Smok - The Big Dog Art Trail

Artist: Liam Kelleher
Liam Kelleher is a freelance illustrator and has worked on a range of murals, public art projects and commercial projects, such as storyboards for music videos and advertising. Liam really enjoys both the freedom of design and inherent challenge in painting unusual structures. When researching Swindon, Liam discovered that since WW2 the town has had a historically important Polish community. Liam chose the design of a dragon as a representation of Polish folklore, as he has always been fascinated by creatures and monsters. Smok is the Polish word for dragon! The colours used were inspired by Swindon Town FC to show how disparate elements and identities can intersect in interesting and surprising ways.

Swindog Auction

After the trail finishes the Swindogs will be auctioned to raise vital funds for Julia’s House, your local children’s hospice charity. If you have sponsored a uniquely designed and decorated big balloon dog sculpture this will be your chance to adopt your Swindog.  Then it can go to its forever home where it can be enjoyed for many years to come!
