Award winning construction company, Beard, has signed up to be the Logistics Partner for The Big Dog Art Trail. Beard will be taking on the very important role of making sure all the Swindogs are transported to their correct homes on the trail. When the trail ends Beard will scoop up all the huge balloon dog sculptures ready for the celebrity farewell weekend on 16 and 17 September 2023.
Established 150 years ago, Beard is a family-owned business with its head office in Swindon. The company undertakes a wide range of construction projects across the south of England and delivers high quality buildings through a focus on open communication and collaboration.
Jamie Harwood, Director for Beard, said, “As a family business, we are very much a part of the communities we serve and have shared values. In keeping with our people first ethos, our belief in a partnership approach and our commitment to making a positive impact in the communities closest to us, we’re delighted to be supporting The Big Dog Art Trail and Julia’s House. We are also excited to be a partner in the launch of Swindon’s first culture trail which will give people the opportunity to come together to explore local places of interest.”
Chris Hyde, Big Dog Art Trail Project Manager, said, “We’re delighted Beard has come on board to support The Big Dog Art Trail and be our Logistics Partner. We know with this paws-ome company the Swindogs are in safe hands. Thank you to all the amazing businesses in Swindon and beyond who have already signed up to be a sponsor. With the artists’ designs now shortlisted, we’re very excited for the New Year and the countdown to The Big Dog Art Trail 2023. We’d urge local businesses to get involved now to avoid missing out on what’s going to be a spectacular celebration of community, art and culture.”
Chris said, “By sponsoring a Swindog and joining The Big Dog Art Trail pack, your company will be part of an event which brings thousands of visitors to Swindon. The trail will improve brand awareness for your business or organisation in a unique and memorable way and it will help you build a feel-good factor among your employees, customers and stakeholders. Crucially, you’ll also be helping to raise funds for Julia’s House children’s hospice and supporting our care for the most seriously ill children and their families in your community.”
The Big Dog Art Trail will run from 15 July to 3 September, 2023, and end with a grand farewell finale where all of the two-metre-high Swindog sculptures will be brought together under one roof. The giant one-of-a-kind creations will then head off to their forever homes after being adopted at a special auction event to raise money for Julia’s House children’s hospice.
The Big Dog Art Trail is being brought to Swindon by Julia’s House and global public art producer Wild in Art, who has previously hosted trails in cities across the UK and worldwide, including the recent elephant parade in Worcester and Cows in Cambridge.
