Michelle Heron - The Big Dog Art Trail

About Michelle Heron

Michelle specialises in realism paintings of high street shops and urban landscapes. In 2018, Michelle appeared in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year and she has exhibited in several prestigious exhibitions, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

She has designed sculptures for numerous Wild in Art trails and always loves seeing children (and adults!) react to her sculptures.

“It’s amazing because I know how hard it is to get selected on the trail, they are so popular with artists.

“To have your work seen by the public means so much to an artist. You spend your day working on your own in a studio and that when you see people smile and it lights up their eyes when they see your sculpture is an indescribable feeling.

“It’s inspired by all the events last year for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and the Household Cavalry.

“I love how striking the uniform is and I think it makes a great character for the Swindog.

“It has a personality and brings a smile to people’s faces and I think people need a bit of uplifting at the moment after everything we’ve been through.

“The Big Dog Art Trail and supporting Julia’s House is something I am extremely proud to be a part of.

“As an artist it is nice to give something back and raise money for a good cause.”
