About David King Reuben
David King Reuben is a British artist, known for his highly textured painting style and compelling drawing of different characters and symbols.
David, who lives and works in New York, is a multi-media artist who explores his artwork through a vast array of materials including concrete, ceramics and oil paint on canvas.
When presented with the fibreglass balloon-dog Swindog sculpture, it was a match made in heaven.
David is world-renowned for his artwork, with exhibitions in New York, Miami and Germany, and he has been a big supporter of charity with his work.
His Swindog design aims to take you on a journey through his notebook and reveal a part of him as a person using a technique where he etches away at a black, painted base.
His sculpture, Writing on the Wall 2023, is sponsored by McArthurGlen and will take pride of place at the Designer Outlet in the heart of Swindon’s railway quarter.
“I am so excited to be a part of this project.
“It is a great cause and artists being involved in a public display of art like this in Swindon is super exciting.
“I can’t tell you everything but the design has been inspired by a blackboard and the incredible marks left behind by the chalk when it is rubbed away and it is constantly evolving.
“You’ll have to come and see it and I can’t wait to bring it to Swindon.”
